Kanokphan was very involved with leadership programs at her high school. Kanokphan credits these programs with helping her "become a leader on my own so that I can help others." She also spends many hours doing volunteer work and tutoring other students.

Colonel’s Scholars is a program of the Kentucky Fried Chicken Foundation, an independent 501©(3) charity funded by KFC, its employees, franchisees and KFC patrons and seeks to provide high school students scholarship resources to attend post-secondary schools within their states of residence.
